Elimination Diet Protocol

The elimination diet is a foundational tool in functional medicine used to identify food triggers that may be causing inflammation, digestive issues, skin problems, fatigue, and more.

This structured plan removes the most common inflammatory foods—such as gluten, dairy, soy, corn, eggs, and processed sugar—while focusing on nutrient-dense, healing foods. After a period of elimination, foods are carefully reintroduced to observe your body’s response and uncover hidden sensitivities.

Low Histamine Diet Protocol

The low histamine diet is designed to reduce symptoms like headaches, skin rashes, hives, anxiety, bloating, and fatigue—often caused by histamine intolerance or underlying gut and immune imbalances.

This protocol removes high-histamine foods such as fermented items, aged cheeses, avocados, spinach, and leftovers, while focusing on fresh, low-histamine, anti-inflammatory foods to calm the body’s response.

Hey! I wanted to give you an update on me and tell you a huge testimonial for the success I’ve had with the AIP Program.

At this point I’ve reintroduced most everything. I tried something with gluten one time and felt awful, so I will remain gluten free.

An unexpected but welcome change I’ve had: as you may remember I started my period the day I started AIP. I felt awful… it was rough. The next month, it was better-ish, but the biggest thing I couldn’t get over was how diminished my premenstrual symptoms were. I had them, but not nearly as many, or as bad. Normally I had at least a weeks worth of red flags: mood swings, cramps, insomnia, bloat, breast pain, GI issues… you get the idea.

Well yesterday, my period completely caught me off guard. I didn’t even know I was due for it!! My cramps have been almost non existent. My period symptoms in general are completely manageable, I’d dare to say “normal” even. I haven’t taken Motrin once.

I joined the autoimmune protocol community to get help with my chronic health issues. Rapha Functional Wellness provided all the resources needed for me to be successful.  Daily meal plans and recipes with videos, shopping lists and resources, education on nutrition and health, a health goals tracking app, and social media group and weekly zoom calls with the group. Amy helped me reach my health goals through bi weekly zoom calls over 3 months, ordering testing and therapies, and vitamins and supplements, talking over health options and providing resources, and encouraging me so I could stay on track.

She was always available to help or answer questions as I worked through my goals. My chronic health issues have improved immensely, I feel the best I have felt in over a decade! The biggest issues I was having were fatigue, migraines, mood swings, and pain and inflammation. These issues have almost completely disappeared for me.
